My love of landscape art stems from my childhood surrounded by paintings done by my grandfather, Carl Sand, who was an artist in Denmark.  An interest in classical composition within the Western and Eastern pictorial traditions and a concern for the harmony found in nature, it's elements and conditions of time and weather, are major aspects reflected in my work.  Each piece is developed from several points of view, based on sketches and visuals and arranged with aesthetic compositional principles of the painter's secret geometry and a modern eye of conscious abstractions within the picture plane that captures the essence of a specific place and transcendental moment.
