In the watercolors Jesus is symbolically depicted by the circle.  It can be viewed as a solid shape or as a never ending connected line, the alpha and omega of the Lord's truths.  With emphasis on shape relationships in the many trials and incidents of the last weary traverse along the Via Della Rosa, the sensitive viewer can both feel and empathize with the struggling weighty experience.
